A1A has helped keep Jimmy Buffett's songs and the Parrot Head community front and center for more than three decades.
Founder, vocalist, and guitarist Jeff Pike started the A1A show with Scott Nickerson in 1991. In 1992, they won a Jimmy Buffett sound-alike contest sponsored by Margaritaville Records. According to the band's published history, Buffett and his management authorized A1A to use the title The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show.
A1A's history also includes performances involving Jimmy Buffett and members of his Coral Reefer Band, as documented by A1A's official biography. Over the years, the production has grown from a duo into a larger live ensemble with guitars, keyboards, percussion, vocals, and horns.
Band history and credits are stated by A1A on its official About page (updated August 2026). Lineup and production configuration may change by engagement.
